Abstract: Using cocoa seedlings as a substrate, populations of Planococcoides njalensis were studied from bírth untíl death of the cohort and from this a life table was constructed. The mean preproductive period was 31 days and the mean reproductíve period was 25.67 days. Mean fecundity was 92.70, gross reproductive rale 69.34 and the net reproductive rate 2.03 nymphs/female/generation. The generation time was 28.28 days and lhe instantaneous bírth and death rates were 0.034 and 0.003 a day, respectívely . The intrinsic rate of increase was 0.031 nymphs/female/day giving a doubling time of 21.98 days.
