| Abstract: | Dianella tasmanica Hook.f. (Asphodelaceae) is an ornamental herbaceous plant widely used in landscaping in several Brazilian cities. This study reports the occurrence of the scale Chyrsomphalus dictyospermi (Morgan, 1889) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) on leaves of D. tasmanica. Leaf samples with the scale insect were collected in Goiás, Brazil. The main symptoms observed in the leaves were yellowing of the leaf blade and drying of the apex, making them visually unattractive. This is the first report of the occurrence of this scale insect on D. tasmanica. |
