Abstract: | Shoot tips of five Citrus species viz., Citrus reticulata, C. reshni, C. taiwanica, C. sinensis and C. madurensis collected from seedlings obtained from two types of embryo (large and small) were cultured on MS medium supplemented with benzylaminopurine. The shoot proliferation coefficient did not differ significantly between embryo size. However, shoot tips from large embryonic seedlings produced larger shoots. Benzylaminopurine at 0.75 and 1.0 mg/L were the best dosages for shoot proliferation. |
