Abstract: | Responses of cacao seedlings to infection by different leveis and forms of inoculwn of Phytophthora capsici. p citrophthora, P heveae, P megakarya and P. palmivora in soil were determined. lnoculations were done with 100 and 250 chlamydospores or oospores per gram of soil or 10 5, 5 x 10 5 and 10 6 zoospores per plant. Cacao seedlings of susceptible or tolerant cuItivars were used and at least 10 pIants of each of the cultivars were inoculated. All the experiments were performed twice with each form of inocuIum. The plants of all experiments were harvested eight weeks after inocuIation and their root systems pIated on PARPH. |
