Abstract: Cotyledonary nodal tissue from seedlings of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) grown in vitro in a basal medium consisting of Murashige and Skoog salts supplemented with (per liter): 0,1 mg thiamine-HCI, 0,5 mg pyridoxine-HCI, 100 mg i-inositol, 0,5 mg nicotinic acid, 2,0 mg glycine, 1 g casein hydrolysate, 30 g sucrose, and 8 g agar produced axillary shoots in response to shoot removal.
